At the end of U2‘s show in Nashville on Saturday night (July 2), Bono brought up a fan who was standing in the front row with a sign that read “Blind Guitar Player.” The fan told the U2 singer that he wanted to play a song for his wife, and Bono handed him his guitar.

The young man said, “I’m really nervous, man,” as he started strumming ‘All I Want Is You’ with Bono singing along. The rest of the band then joined in to accompany the fan and the frontman. The performance came after the band had taken its final bows following the apparent set-closing number ‘Moment of Surrender.’

After the song, in another surprise, Bono hugged the fan and told him to keep the “Irish Falcon” Gretsch guitar.

Earlier in the show, the band played a portion of ‘The Wanderer,’ the song that features the late Johnny Cash on vocals off U2?s 1993 disc ‘Zooropa.’ U2 had only performed it previously for a TV special in 2003, making this the first time they played it at one of their concerts.
