Bon Jovi beat U2 to top spot

Bon Jovi have taken the most in ticket sales for live performances in 2010, beating other established acts including U2 and AC/DC.

According to Metro the group’s tour, ‘The Circle’, took in excess of €152 (£130) million globally, as per to the latest figures released by music trade publication Pollstar.
Second were Aussie rockers AC/DC, who finished runner-up for the second straight year, with €135 (£115) million.
Last year’s top performers U2 were third with just short of €123 (£105) million in live sales, jumping ahead of fourth-placed Lady Gaga, the only pop act to break into the top five this year. Metallica were fifth.
The ‘Bad Romance’ singer performed 138 shows, while Bon Jovi did 80, AC/DC completed 40 and U2 performed just 32, following Bono’s back injury and subsequent surgery.
Michael Bublé, family show ‘Walking With Dinosaurs’, Paul McCartney, the Eagles and Pink Floyd frontman Roger Waters rounded off the top ten.
Bon Jovi could stand to make even more money in 2011, speaking to the Daily Star, Jon Bon Jovi said he was ‘toying’ with the idea of playing at Glastonbury.
